Because each student is different . . . Even though students can use Total Reader independently, you can still capture the “teachable moment.” Students can go over missed vocabulary on their own or with their teachers. Missed words become part of each student's personal vocabulary list. How it works Students select a short passage from a list automatically targeted to their skill level. They fill in missing words or “cloze” items. They receive an updated Lexile measure each time they complete a passage. Results are immediately reported on the student's personal dashboard and in teacher reports.
